Teaching Procedure:
Step1.Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”.
The teacher asks the students the following questions:
Have you ever seen an accident? What happened? Did you help?
What should you do if you see an accident happen?
When the students are discussing, the teacher write some new words about the accidents on the blackboard. Such as: crash, hurt, badly, serious, put a bandage on, send…to…
Step2.Let the students read the text and tell the main idea of this text.
S1: It is a play about an accident.
S2: Jenny, Danny and Jenny play a role-play about an accident.
S3: We learn some new words and expressions on giving warning.
Step3. Read the text and encourage the students to ask some questions about the text.
They may ask the following questions:
What’s the meaning of victim?
What will Danny say to Jenny when she has an accident?
What is Brian in this play?
Step4. Come to the project.
Divide the class into several groups. Now let’s decide who is the victim, who is the reporter and who is the witness.
Some students may not know what to say. Show some words and expressions with the help of the flash.
Let them show their dialogues in front of the class.
Then change the roles in the play and act it out.
Step 5. Homework
Finish off the activity book.
