Passage 1 A Second Chance
Something in Stephen Pearman’s voice moved Robert Fredy one cold day two years ago. Pearman had come close to Fredy’s 1 at a crossroad in New York City, hoping to earn some money 2 washing his windshield(挡风玻璃). Fredy waved to indicate he wasn’t interested.
Pearman leaned into the window. “Come on, mister, give me a break. I need a 3 .” he said.

Passage 2
On a snowy evening, a rich lady was standing by the road. She was very worried. Her 1 had broken down. Just then a poor man named Robert came. He was on his way back home from work as usual.

My parents turned my whole world upside down when they told me they were getting a divorce(离婚). I couldn’t believe our 1 was going to break up.

Passage 4
Anna lived on the side of a valley(山谷). One summer, there was a very big flood(洪水), and a lot of 1 down below Anna’s were washed away.
